Perhaps you stumbled across this website by accident. Perhaps something drew you in. Something in your heart was captured by the beautiful pictures, the innocence evoked even in the very design of the site and its content, and the depths of love for Jesus that is encouraged in the book, the magazine — every post and page. And yet…you look at it all as if through a keyhole; separated from actually taking any of it to heart…because your heart tells you, “You aren’t like that. You are not innocent, you are not pure…you are not the picture of sweetness and femininity that these girls are striving for. You have been broken, and the pieces of your heart have been trampled on, tossed to the wind, and are lost forever. You are far too broken to ever be like that.”
Dear Broken Girl, I see you crying in your room…alone, scared, trapped and just longing to be free. I see you trying to put on a smile – trying to face the world and act like it’s ok; like the hurt doesn’t mean anything to you. It’s ok to cry. This world is full of sin, of hurt, of cruelty. And I know that it feels like it’s too late for you; too late to go back, too late to try again – too late to un-do all of the damage that’s been done – too late to repair the broken pieces of your heart. Maybe it is. But as you’re crying in your room, longing to be free – longing to be a different person, if only you could….just remember, Jesus came for you. For the broken. YOU are the reason He came. And He not only will bind up your wounds…but He will give you a NEW heart and a fresh start! A heart free of anger, without walls, fear, guilt, or despair. And remember…we are all broken. And that is why we need Jesus. There’s not one of us with a perfect heart or life. But it is those who know they are broken and need help that Jesus came for. Those who think they’re ok can’t be reached because their pride keeps them from Jesus’ help – because Jesus requires humility and honesty – but those who cry out to Him for help, and who know they are in a desperate place…to those humble ones, He will swiftly go. And if you think you can’t possibly change yourself so dramatically so as to become a “good Christian”…..well….you can’t. BUT, if you actually let Jesus change your heart, and rule over it as King…He will change you by the power of His Holy Spirit, and give you the strength and ability to do the things that are right and pure and good — the things you could never have the strength or power to do on your own. And He will also, along with a new heart, give you new desires, so that the things that were destroying your heart will no longer be able to fasten their grip on you, and instead, you will desire and seek after the things that will nurture your spirit, and cause your life to become beautiful and like a fragrant flower before Him!

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules….And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses.” Ezekiel 36:25-29
